Iceland, land of volcanoes, petrified lava fields, hot springs, glaciers and waterfalls. The unknown north of Iceland also has an untouched landscape of ice and fire to offer. 1. The Beer Spa
It is nice to relax after a refreshing boat trip in a hot beer bath. Beer?! Yes, this microbrewery offers seven private baths through which ten liters of Kaldi beer, hops and herbs flow and are mixed with pure mountain water. You can enjoy antioxidants and minerals for 25 minutes that are wonderfully soft for skin and hair. And with your own tap you can fully enjoy yourself. Cheers!
2. Geosea
Favorite is this beautiful natural pool, with breathtaking views over the bay of Húsavik. Geothermal hot springs have been used here for centuries. At Geosea , the water is mixed with the rich minerals of the sea. It’s small and full of locals. You don’t need more than one drink.
3. Mývatn Nature Baths
The hot springs of Mývatn are less touristy and slightly smaller than the southern Blue Lagoon. The view is also nicer and inside are geothermal steam baths. A perfect end to your day.
4. Grjotagja
This small, hidden cave near Lake Mývatn was a popular bathing place, used from the eighteenth century. Geological activities between 1975-1984 further increased the temperature, making it too hot to bathe. It is a famous filming location, as this is where the Game of Thrones characters Jon Snow and Ygritte made love.
